Nika Grace Colors Toning Application Guide
Materials Required:
- Grace Color toning shade
- Activator (5 vol or 10 vol)
- Non-metallic mixing bowl
- Hair coloring brush
- Gloves
- Timer
- Shampoo and conditioner suitable for colored hair
Preparation:
- Mix Grace Color toning shade with the activator in a 1:2 ratio. For example, blend 60 ml of the toning shade with 120 ml of Activator.
- Ensure gloves are worn to protect your hands from staining.
- Start with hair washed and lightly towel-dried to remove excess water.
Application:
- Apply the mixture to the hair using the coloring brush, starting from the areas that need the most correction or where the desired tonal effect is strongest.
- Use sectioning clips to divide the hair into manageable sections for even application.
- Once all hair is covered, comb through gently to ensure even distribution of the product.
- Leave the mixture on the hair to process 'at sight', which typically means checking the color development every 5-10 minutes. The total processing time should not exceed the recommended duration based on the desired tonal intensity.
Finishing:
- Once the desired tone is achieved, rinse the hair thoroughly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear.
- Shampoo the hair gently with a shampoo formulated for colored hair to help remove any residual color mixture.
- Apply a conditioner suitable for colored hair, leave it on for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly to add moisture and shine to the toned hair.
Post-Treatment Tips:
- Avoid washing your hair for at least 48 hours after the toning treatment to allow the color to set.
- Use color-protecting hair care products to maintain the tone and vibrancy of the color.
- Limit exposure to sun, chlorine, and salt water, as these can fade the color and affect the tonal quality.
- Schedule regular touch-up sessions to maintain the desired tone, depending on the hair growth and color fade.
